Cinema program "Aspromonte: Land of the Forgotten" in Kraków
Original title:
Via dall'Aspromonte
Production: Włochy , 2019 Release Date: 22 November 2019 Distribution: Aurora Films Directed by: Mimmo Calopresti Cast: Valeria Bruni Tedeschi, Marco Leonardi, Marcello Fonte The action of the film, based on the novel by Pietra Criaco, takes place in the 1950s in the south of Italy, among the Calabrian hills of Aspromonte. The place is not accidental, because the director Mimmo Calopresti himself grew up in a small Calabrian town. In one of the interviews he argued that the Italian south has always been marked by a certain spirituality: "Heaven and hell, fairy tale and tragedy." His new film combines all these elements. Starring stars are Valeria Bruni Tedeschi ("Go crazy with happiness") and Marcello Fonte ("Dogman"). IN CINEMA FROM 22 NOVEMBER 2019 Located in the picturesque Calabrian Aspromonte, the small town of Africo is a place where time has stopped. Devoid of electricity and roads that would connect them to larger centers, it is condemned to isolation. The order of life is determined here by nature and clear principles that guide the local community on a daily basis. However, this has bad sides, because in Africo everything remains in a suspended state, which only increases the frustration of the inhabitants. A bit of bitterness is overwhelmed by the tragic death of a woman during childbirth, because due to lack of road the doctor did not make it on time. Annoyed residents decide to take matters into their own hands and build it with their own strength. The arrival of a new, progressive teacher will also be a chance for the socialization of the forgotten Africo. Her modern way of being and extraordinary beauty cause a lot of confusion and agitation. ![]() Movie trailer: Aspromonte: Land of the ForgottenYour commentsAdd new comment Aspromonte: Land of the Forgotten |
